Your First Time in Boracay? You’re in for a Treat.
Imagine soft white sand under your feet, warm turquoise water, and sunsets that feel a little bit magical.
That’s Boracay. Relaxed by day, a little sparkly by night, and completely unforgettable.
When Kirsten was showing Daniel around the Philippines, a place so deeply woven into who she is, they both knew that Boracay would be the perfect spot to say their vows.
We know destination weddings can feel like a lot to plan for, so we’ve gathered everything you’ll need: how to get there, where to stay, and a few of our favourite spots to eat, sip, and explore once you arrive.
A few handy things to know up front:
- Avoid drinking tap water or water that is not bottled. This includes ice, unless it is served at the high-end resorts. To be safe, you can always ask if the ice is from purified water.
- Bring some cash, as not all spots take cards.
- E-trikes (electric tricycles) are the easiest way to get around.
- No smoking or drinking directly on the beach.
- Filipinos are famously welcoming and kind. A smile and a simple “Salamat” (thank you) go a long way.
We can’t wait to share this island, this moment, and a little bit of sunshine with you.
How do I get to Boracay?
Fly into Manila, then take a short domestic flight to Caticlan (Boracay Airport).
If your international and domestic flights don’t line up for a same day arrival, we recommend staying one night in Manila beforehand.
From Caticlan to your accomodation*:
- 5–10 minutes by shuttle from Caticlan airport to the Caticlan Jetty Port.
- 10–15 minutes by boat to Boracay Island.
- A short shuttle ride to your accommodation.
- Approximate total travel time: 45 minutes from the airport to your hotel.
*Please note, some hotels will organise these transfers for you but it is not guaranteed. Make sure to check ahead and book accordingly.
Tips for international guests:
- Book your domestic flight separately from your international one.
- You’ll go through immigration and collect luggage in Manila before your domestic connection.
- At Caticlan Jetty Port, you’ll need to show proof of your hotel booking.
- There may be a small environmental and terminal fee (approx ₱150–₱200) Sometimes this is automatically included in your hotel fees.
What are Boracay’s “Stations”?
Boracay’s famous White Beach is divided into “Stations,” each with its own vibe, and all within easy reach of the wedding events. The easiest way to move between Station 0, 1, 2, and 3 is by walking along the shoreline of White Beach or getting a shuttle or tricycle.
Stations 0 + 1 – Premium & Peaceful
Wide beachfront, calm atmosphere, and the island’s most luxurious stays. Perfect for guests who want a serene escape and an easy trip to the wedding. The Shangri-La is located on Station 0.
Station 2 – Central & Lively
The social heart of the island. Restaurants, bars, and shops line the path, with hotels like Coast, Henann Crystal Sands, and Henann Regency. Ideal if you want to be in the middle of the action.
Station 3 – Laid-Back & Budget-Friendly
More relaxed and local, with smaller boutique hotels such as Astoria Current, 357 Boracay, and Villa Caemilla. Great value and easygoing charm.
Weather and What to Bring
Boracay is warm and tropical year-round, with average temperatures around 28°C. Days are sunny and breezy, and evenings are pleasantly cool by the water. Pack light, breathable clothing, swimwear, and your gorgeous outfit for the celebration. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable sandals.
